When the Weight of Service Is Carried Quietly

Behind every uniform is a person — and often a family — carrying the long-term weight of service.

Much of that weight is unseen, unspoken, and carried alone.

“They show up every day. We’re asking you to show up once a month.”

Many first responders and veterans do not speak openly about the toll their service takes.

They carry it into their homes, their relationships, their finances, and their faith — often without pause or permission to process it. Over time, that quiet weight can become isolating.

Day1Week1 exists to respond to that reality with dignity and care. Support is structured, faith-centered, and designed to be available over time — not only in moments of crisis, and not at the cost of privacy or respect.

Mission Clarity

Day1Week1 provides ongoing support across mental health care, family restoration, financial assistance, and chaplaincy services.

This work is built to walk alongside individuals and families steadily, recognizing that the effects of service do not resolve quickly or on a schedule.

There are two ways to support this work:

  • A one-time contribution, which helps meet immediate and situational needs

  • A monthly commitment, which helps ensure support remains available consistently

Both are meaningful. Monthly support simply allows this response to remain present and prepared.

There is no expectation beyond what you are able and willing to give
